Concerning: The claim concerns the failure of the Crown to provide for the healthcare of Māori and their whānau in the provision of sufficient support for those with substance abuse issues. The claimant alleges that the Crown has breached the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi by failing to: • Afford Ngāti Te Wehi equal treatment compared with non-Māori; • Provide sufficient healthcare for Ngāti Te Wehi; • Afford Ngāti Te Wehi equal rights, privileges and support as afforded non-Māori; • Prevent unfair treatment of Māori; • Prevent the undermining of the claimant’s mana and rangatiratanga; • Provide sufficient assistance, support and care for Māori; • Provide for the claimant’s overall health and well-being.
