Reports by district
Since the late 1990s, the Tribunal has grouped together for inquiry claims that relate to a particular geographical district.
The Tribunal has completed its inquiry and reporting on claims in 30 districts, covering 83 per cent of Aotearoa’s land area.
Three district inquiries are currently underway and two are in the report-writing stage. Read more about the Tribunal’s district inquiries.
Since it was established in 1975, the Tribunal has released nearly 150 final reports. A large number of these reports are specific to a particular district or region.
Below you can browse Tribunal reports by inquiry district, starting at Te Hiku o Te Ika at the top of Te Ika a Māui (the North Island), down to the bottom of Te Waka a Māui (the South Island) and Wharekauri/Rēkohu/Chatham Islands.
