Report of the Waitangi Tribunal on the Motunui-Waitara Claim
Claim Wai 6, the Motunui-Waitara claim, was brought by Aila Taylor on behalf of the Te Atiawa tribe on 2 June 1981 and concerned the control of discharge of sewage and industrial waste into the sea between New Plymouth and Waitara.

The Taranaki Report: Kaupapa Tuatahi
When The Taranaki Report: Kaupapa Tuatahi was released in 1996, it was hailed by many as one of the Tribunal's most important reports. Indeed, the Minister in Charge of Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations at the time, the Honourable Doug Graham, urged all New Zealanders to read it. The report dealt with 21 claims concerning the Taranaki district and canvassed the land wars and confiscations in the area, as well as the story of Parihaka.

Released in 2003, Te Whanganui a Tara me ona Takiwa: Report on the Wellington District is a report on 13 claims relating to the area covered by the New Zealand Company’s 1839 Port Nicholson deed of purchase, as extended in 1844 to the southwest coast. The inquiry area consists of the takiwa (district, or environs) of Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington Harbour or Port Nicholson), including Wellington city and the Hutt Valley. The report deals with the complex process by which this land was acquired from Maori, and with issues relating to the administration and alienation of Maori reserves in the inquiry area

The Whanganui River Report
Rarely has a Maori river claim been so persistently maintained as that of the Whanganui people. Uniquely in the annals of Maori settlement, the country’s longest navigable river is home to just one iwi, the Atihau-a-Paparangi. It has been described as the aortic artery, the central bloodline of that one heart.

The Ngati Maniapoto/Ngati Tama Settlement Cross-Claims Report
The claims Wai 788 and Wai 800 were heard as a matter of urgency in February 2001 when the Ngati Maniapoto claimants stated that they had interests in part of the area covered by the Ngati Tama settlement, and that they would be prejudiced by the provision of redress to Ngati Tama within that area before Ngati Maniapoto’s claims had been heard by the Tribunal, or before Ngati Maniapoto had entered into settlement negotiations with the Crown for its Treaty claims.

Taranaki Maori, Dairy Industry Changes and the Crown Report
Two days of hearing for the Paraninihi ki Waitotara Incorporation (PKW) claim regarding changes to the dairy industry were held on 12-13 November 2001. The Tribunal's report was released before Christmas 2001.
