Wai 785: Te Tau Ihu (Northern South Island) Inquiry

The Waitangi Tribunal has today released a pre-publication version of its report on the Treaty claims of iwi and hapū of Te Tau Ihu (northern South Island). The eight recognised iwi are Ngāti Apa, Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Kuia, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Te Atiawa, and Rangitāne.

Whanganui District Inquiry Continues in 2008

The Whanganui district inquiry (Wai 903) continues this year with the first hearing week in Whanganui from 10 to 14 March at Paraweka Marae, Pipiriki.
The presiding officer, Judge Carrie Wainwright, says, ‘We’re looking forward to the next block of hearings in 2008. Tribunal hearings are open to the public, and we welcome everyone.’
