| The Crown Flora and Fauna

This provides a broad general overview of major Crown policies and practices that relate to flora and fauna between 1983 and 1998. These policies and practices have been divided into the following six themes: international environmental law; resource management (including the development and functions of the Resource Management Act); conservation policy (and the formation and operation of the Department of Conservation); Crown science and research (including the shift from the Department of Scientific and industrial Research to Crown Research Institutes); new organisms (and the work of ERMA); and select policy developments after 1992.
