Peter Brown

Peter Brown has been a community developer assisting with socio-economic revitalisation. He has had particular involvement with the planning and structural development of rural community enterprise. His major focus has been on sustainability projects involving consultation and cooperation between community, business, and Government stakeholders. He has also worked in social areas, including employment, youth at risk, family care and protection, and integrating social justice and ecological perspectives.

Mr Brown has a bachelor of arts, a bachelor of laws, a master of business administration, and a diploma in environmental management. He is a company director, a board member of cultural tourism venture ‘Te Puia’, a Walking Access commissioner, a trustee of Māori land blocks, and a marae trustee. He has special interests in permaculture.

Mr Brown was appointed to the Tribunal in 2006.
