Login to the extranet | Maori Land Court - IntroductionThe Māori Land Court (Te Kooti Whenua Māori) is the New Zealand court that hears matters relating to Māori land. About 1.3 million hectares in New Zealand are designated Māori freehold land, just under 5 per cent of the country’s total 26.4 million hectares. Part of the jurisdiction of Māori Land Court judges is the capacity to be appointed as presiding officers for Waitangi Tribunal inquiries, and several judges are currently acting in this capacity.
